Here's a quick way to understand how we are currently doing phone to phone interaction.
One phone is the master, the other the client. The master will be the phone who creates the Jam, and the phone that is connected to Bluetooth, so the music will be playing out of this phone.
Currently, to join another phone's jam, the client must input the Jam ID (which is just the phone's IP address) of the other phone.
At this point, all of the songs on the master's phone and all of the songs on the client's phone are, in real time, combined to create a collective list of all of both phones' songs that each phone can view.
Now, both of the phones can browse this collective song list and add any songs to the jam.
When either of the phones views the current jam, the shared playlist stays in sync. Any song added to the jam by one phone is immediately seen by the other phone.

As we've said, in the future we want to be able to join a jam by searching for a nearby phone, without having to input a Jam ID. Besides that, we think our phone to phone interaction is working really well. We have a working app!
